Shahzadi is a third-year B.Arch student at Carnegie Mellon University and is using the scholarship to support her education. 

After receiving the Spring 2023 award, Shahzadi voiced: "Being a recipient of the MAPS scholarship has helped bring me one step closer to achieving my goal of becoming an architect. This award assures me that professionals in the city of Pittsburgh are looking to empower minority students and architects throughout our academic journeys and beyond."
